RGIT Australia held a partner meet-and-greet session at Citadines on Bourke Melbourne on Wednesday, 19 September 2018. The session, facilitated by RGIT Australia Hobart and Melbourne campus representatives, focused on educating Melbourne-based agents on the benefits of living and studying at RGIT Australia’s Hobart Campus.
RGIT Hobart Campus Manager, Anil Shrestha, and Hobart Marketing Officer, Johnpaul Palissery, provided insight into what sets RGIT Australia apart, and why more and more international students are making Hobart their first choice for overseas study.
Representatives spoke about RGIT Australia’s campuses, facilities, courses, important information for education agents, with a focus on RGIT Australia's Hobart Campus and its magnificent Tasmanian setting.
Academic Principal, Peter Robertson, spoke of the responsibilities of students when they enrol at RGIT Australia, namely student attendance. He spoke of the value of an RGIT Australia nationally recognised qualification, and the measures which RGIT Australia takes to ensure that qualifications are of value for students who take their Australian qualification back home with them following their studies.
“Whether students decide to make Australia their home, or return to their home country after their studies, students need qualifications of value, and a qualification from RGIT Australia comes with a great sense of authenticity and worth.”
Peter's presentation came with a clear message for education agents: “There are no ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’ anymore in the vocational sector in Australia. Unless you are following the requirements of the regulator, you will not be in business.” He continued, “RGIT Australia is in business. We have been in business for ten years, and we’ll be in business much longer, because we have that quality.”
Agents enjoyed special agent promotions, and eight lucky winners of prize draw giveaways were announced before one lucky winner won flights and accommodation for two to Hobart, courtesy of RGIT Australia.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), founder & Director, Chandra Yonzon, addressed agents thanking them for their contributions and collaboration till date, and welcomed new agents to the event. Mr Yonzon spoke of RGIT Australia’s recent successes, reflecting on the Institute’s ten year celebrations this year. He said that, "Hobart is a marvelous destination," while stressing that education agents should work in the best interests of the student applicant.
Mr Yonzon joined Marketing Sales & Marketing Manager, Kishor Adhikari, and Johnpaul Palissery, in a Q&A session which proved a great opportunity to talk about RGIT Australia’s Diploma of Nursing program and future plans for higher education.
More and more international students are choosing Tasmania as their first choice for overseas study. About 4,000 international students study in Tasmania, coming from over 60 different countries, according to 2015 state government figures. With booming economic and population growth, a high and growing demand for skilled graduates, and picturesque mountain and coastal scenery, Tasmania - and in particular, Hobart - is proving more and more popular for international students.
