RGIT Australia welcomed its first batch of HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing students at its Nursing Orientation Day on Monday, 18 June 2018.
Students were given enrolment packs and enjoyed interactive and informative presentations by RGIT Australia Student Services, Communications and Health Science departments covering all aspects of student life.
“The welcome party was very nice,” said Mugdha, one of the students welcomed at the orientation. “Staff presented beautiful conversations and their thoughts about the latest batch. It was really exciting for me to hear that we were the first batch, I didn’t know it at first. Being the first batch at RGIT Australia is something very special. Staff described their expectations of us being the first batch. We will be role models for the college.”
The welcome session also provided students with the opportunity to meet nursing trainers and clinical placement staff. RGIT Australia CEO, Chandra Yonzon, was delighted to welcome the institute's first nursing students.
"This is the first day of your educational journey here at RGIT," said Mr Yonzon. "You will go on to take your training and industry experience back home with you and around the world." Mr Yonzon continued what was a very motivational speech in which he also encouraged students to make the most of RGIT Australia's facilities and recources, including the institute's recreational and library facilities.
Nursing Coordinator, Vergeeniya SV, and Clinical Placement Officer, Sue Ulutay, spoke with students about Professional Experience Placements (PEP), and introduced them to the simulated Nursing Lab, where students would later attend their first class later that afternoon.
