General English (Starter-Advanced)
RGIT Australia's General English program will help you develop your listening, speaking, reading, and general communication skills. Australia is a predominantly English speaking country and it is instrumental for foreigners to have an acceptable level of English language competency.
The ELICOS General English program is aimed at non-native English speakers or people with minimum to an average level of English competency. You will learn with experienced and qualified teachers in small classes. We will track your progress with regular testing. Upon completion of this course, graduates will develop the confidence to communicate successfully both socially and professionally. This course also prepares students for RGIT's Academic English Programmes (EAP I , II & III).
Students focus on developing their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for personal, social, work and study purposes.
RGIT Australia caters to students of every level, and the Starter level is perfect for students who are just beginning to learn English!
Homework, weekly tests, teacher feedback and friendly classes help students to improve English quickly. Students also participate in excursions that help them integrate into the local culture, understand accents and engage with local residents and businesses.
General English Levels:
*There are no specific prerequisites to enter General English. Students will be given a placement test to determine which English level is best suited to their needs.

Kanjana Kamphaengkaew, General English Level 1
“RGIT is in the CBD, it is easy to go anywhere after school. If we don’t understand, our teacher draws in the blackboard, which makes it easy to understand. Sometimes we play English games and go for field trips. Here, I don’t just learn English, but learn more about Australian culture and make new friends.”
Yu Tsan Chang, General English Level 2
“All my friends speak Spanish and I had no opportunity to practice English, but at RGIT, as students are from different countries, I could only communicate using English. My trainer always gave personalised inputs to my work. My vocabulary has improved and now I know many new expressions.”
