You will learn in our fully equipped, state-of-the-art simulated Nursing Lab at our Victoria House campus, conveniently located on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Our purpose-built facilities will provide you with a realistic setting in which you will confidently demonstrate your theoretical and practical knowledge to your trainers and peers.
Our dedicated, professional training staff is well-equipped, enthusiastic, and ready to share with you their in-depth industry and academic knowledge.
You will complete a minimum of 460 hours of Professional Experience Placement (PEP) or work placement, supervised by a clinical teacher, in which you will:
Perform tasks relating to Nursing and healthcare in an appropriate industry setting gaining transferable skills demonstrated in a real workplace environment reflecting current industry needs and standards.
Interact with experienced workers who will pass on valuable skills and knowledge.
Gain a sense of what working in the healthcare industry will be like.
Practice and demonstrate hands-on skills.
Ask questions and learn about the industry from professionals.
Demonstrate your attributes for future employment possibilities.
The Diploma of Nursing reflects the role of an enrolled nurse working under supervision of a registered nurse. This qualification covers the application of skills and knowledge required to provide nursing care for people across the health sector. A lifespan approach should underpin this qualification with relevant competencies that relate to the different stages of life identified within the units.
