RGIT Australia staff and students participated in an excursion to Werribee Open Range Zoo on Wednesday, 11 April 2018.

42 General English (ECLIOS) students and five ELICOS trainers caught the train together from Melbourne to Werribee where they spent the day touring the attractions as part of Oakhill English School's subsidised excursions program.

Oakhill English School, a subsidary of Oakhill Education Group Australia Pty Ltd, provides students with a wide range of English courses for all levels. Subsidised excursions for Oakhill English School' ELICOS program provide students with opportunities to help them integrate into the local culture, meet other international students, spend time with ELICOS trainers in informal, relaxed settings, as well as provide the opporutnity to engage with locals.

Excursions such as Wednesday's to Werribee also allow students who may otherwise not be able to due to study and work commitments, to travel outside Melbourne. Wednesday's trip to Werribee Zoo provided many of the 42 students the opporunity to see Australia outside Melbourne for the first time since their arrival in Australia.
