About the role

The Nursing Coordinator/Educator will provide academic leadership in delivering specific units of study in the learning program. Duties include, facilitating student learning through teaching and learning activities, marking of assessment and facilitating communication. The Nursing Coordinator/Educator will liaise with students, support staff, other educators and will report to the Campus Course Coordinator.

 

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing session plan
  • Course delivery
  • Resource and assessment tool validation
  • Associated administrative tasks.
  • Liaise with students, support staff, other educators and report to the Campus Course Coordinator.
  • Oversee student's clinical practice and deliver education and assessment opportunities.
  • Communicate with Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC) to ensure effective and appropriate experience for students.
  • Guide students through their clinical placements, provide regular feedback and ensure creative techniques are used.
  • Measure student's competence against the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Plan, prepare and deliver education according to program requirements.

 

Skills and experience

  • Bachelors of Nursing degree or higher
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - 40116 (MUST)
  • Minimum 1-2 years current professional experience in coordinating and training (preferable)
  • Minimum 3 years Nursing experience in the industry with current knowledge and clinical skills.
  • Current work experience in the industry relevant to the subject being delivered .
  • Current APHRA Registration as a Registered Nurse and In-depth understanding of ASQA/ANMAC regulatory guidelines and standards is highly desirable.

Highly desirable skills include:

  • Experience within the VET sector as a trainer and/or coordinator
  • Post Grad Qualifications in a nursing related field

RGIT Australia, situated in Melbourne CBD, is looking for highly motivated and dedicated Business and Management Coordinator/Trainer & Assessor for Business and Leadership & management to work within the Institute's Business Department.

 

Position purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, manage, to enhance the students' learning experience by delivering and assessing quality, compliant and engaging training that addresses the needs of the student and complies with RGIT's, coordinate and supervise the educational and business activities of RGIT Australia's Business and Management program(s), allocated to them. The Coordinator has a key role in assuring the quality of RGIT Australia's academic programs and facilitating student success at RGIT Australia.

 

Position responsibilities: VET - Business and Management Coordinator

  • Ensure Business and Management program operations are conducted in accordance with compliance requirements
  • Manage Business operations and ensure they are satisfactorily conducted to maintain organisational operations
  • Monitor student activity and ensure they are provided with support for satisfactory course progress
  • Ensure the development of programs is upheld in a team environment to foster a culture that embraces continuous improvement and best practice
  • Monitor Business and Management department staff activities across both Hobart & Melbourne campus and provide them with ongoing support and assistance to ensure efficient and effective performance. 
  • Follow the course curriculum to deliver and assess the respective course in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Contribute to the development of courses in a team environment to foster a culture that embraces continuous improvement and best practice
  • Conduct classes as and when required. 
  • Ensure professional development is continuously maintained for industry currency
  • Monitor the use of resources and contribute to their improvement.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Advanced Diploma level qualification in Business or Management
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Minimum 2 yrs of Vocational Education and Training experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience in coordinating programs
  • Significant industry experience will be well regarded
  • General basic level capability of utilising the computer, therefore are able to learn and understand how to use new software/programs at a basic level
  • LMS (Moodle) experience is preferable
  • RTO Manager (Student Management System) experience is preferable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced ability to multitask and prioritise multiple responsibilities
  • Basic ability to easily mix well with others and satisfactorily carry out tasks in liaison with colleagues
  • Ability to maintain a professional and friendly persona during encounters with stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Accountability for personal work performance
  • Effective and efficient time management
  • Effective and efficient problem solving
