RGIT Australia is recruiting highly-motivated and dedicated ELICOS teacher to work within the Institute's ELICOS Department for its Melbourne CBD campus.

This is unique position in ELICOS – it can offer full time hours, attractive teaching rates, in a hassle free support role, whilst gaining experience in both a management and teaching capacity.

On Monday to Wednesday, you will act as assistant teacher in General English classes. On some days, your services will not be needed as a co-teacher and you will assist the Academic Manager in the operation of the department or be sent home with pay. 

In addition, an ongoing position on Thursday teaching an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) class is available for the right candidate.

If growth continues, expansion into a permanent teaching or management role is possible.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is comfortable teaching across a variety of levels
  • Works well with other teachers
  • Does not sit behind a desk – can move around the room offering students continuous one on one support, feedback, and monitoring to support the delivery of the Principal Teacher.
  • Is able to work independently in a management and administrative support role, helping to develop basic ESL content, organise and book events and problem solve.

To be considered for an ELICOS trainer position, applicants need to have following:

  • An Australian-recognised degree or higher qualification

About the role

Position Purpose

The respective officer will be responsible for the business development, sales growth and brand building of RGIT Australia’s educational offerings in the allocated market (Northeast Asia). Specifically, the role will require promotion and growth of student numbers for RGIT Australia’s VET and ELICOS courses.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in field relating to business or marketing
  • Minimum 1 year experience in general sales and marketing or 1 year demonstrated experience in international student marketing, in a Registered Training Organisation
  • Knowledge of international student recruitment markets, particularly their allocated market, is preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement onshore and offshore marketing plans to recruit international students from the Northeast Asian region
  • General basic level capability to use Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Basic organisation and prioritisation skills
  • General basic level capability of utilising the computer, therefore are able to learn and understand how to use new software/programs at a basic level
