RGIT students had a field trip to Crown Kitchen Workshop for the Lunch Buffet at Crown Melbourne on Wednesday, 13 December 2017.
Students strolled down Collins Street and took the tram to Crown, where the Kitchen Workshop buffet served as a great way to wind down the year before the Christmas break.

RGIT Commerical Cookery III students visited Mures Fishing, an iconic oyster farming and seafood processing plant in Tasmania, where ttudents had the opportunity to learn about Tasmanian seafood and oyster farming. The excursion last week saw students entertained learning about oyster cleaning and shucking followed by a chance to see the fish cleaning and processing in operation. Staff at Mures processing center showed students the processing techniques of lobsters and fish filleting to commercial standards.

Hospitality tudents visited Melbourne Town Hall, the central municipal building of the City of Melbourne, on Wednesday 29, November 2017. Students enjoyed sitting in the Council Chambers, and learning about Melbourne heritage and Australian Culture. Students admired the beautiful architecture of the building which was completed in 1854, and learned the meaning of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. The excursion was a great opportunity for students to fulfill the requirements of the unit 'Show Social and Cultural Sensitivity'.

RGIT Certificate III in Patisserie stage 2 students, and their Trainer, Graham, visited Federation Square, Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne's iconic laneways on an excursion last week. Students' first port of call was ‘Christmas at Fed Square’, Federation Square’s Christmas display including a 16-metre tall Christmas tree. Students also took the opportunity to explore Melbourne’s laneways in search of Melbourne’s best coffee.

The IT Department recently went on an excursion to the Connect Expo in Melbourne. The students had a lot of fun and learnt a whole lot of new things!!

The Commercial Cookery students in Hobart visited the Ball and Chain restaurant on Monday 28 November for a student excursion to learn the inner workings of kitchen service.

Hobart Hospitality and ELICOS students enjoyed an eye-opening excursion to MONA.
A smooth ride on the Derwent River in the MR-1 fast ferry, to and from MONA, was the perfect way to travel.
