RGIT Australia hosted an industry consultation in Level 7 Boardroom, Main Campus on Friday, 29 June 2018.
Operations Manager, Sanushka Rajbhandary, welcomed all in attendance and outlined the aims of the program before a consultation brief was led by Nursing Coordinator, Vergeeniya SV. Department heads and industry partners discussed department requirements before lunch was served by RGIT Australia hospitality students.

RGIT Hobart Certificate III in Commercial Cookery students presented a spectacular student buffet on Tuesday, 26 June 2018.
Students hosted more than 50 guests including RGIT staff, students, and industry partners, including Best Western Hotel General Manager and Executive Chef, and Ibis Front House Manager and System Manager. All were delighted to attend the beautifully presented event.

Certificate III in Patisserie Stage 2 students made brandied fruitcakes, berry jelly topped cheesecakes, delicious Madeira cakes and mini carrot cakes, to fulfill the requirements for the unit SITHPAT001 ‘Produce cakes’ on Thursday afternoon. The delicacies featured latest trends on traditional recipes.

Certificate III in Hospitality students made a range of cocktails in accordance with SITHFAB202 Operate a Bar with their trainer, Ashwin, this morning. The class was very hands on and provided students with a wide range of practical skills and training.

Royal Gurkhas Institute of Technology has a cohort of two-thousand mostly international students. With most student living and studying away from home, this means an additional duty on behalf of staff and trainers. RGIT Hospitality students kicked-off their culinary showcase with a Street Food Stall held at RGIT Melbourne Campus yesterday, 26 October 2017. Yesterday's Street Food Stall and upcoming events are designed to provide students with hands-on training in a fun and friendly environment where staff and students have the opportunity to mingle and bond over good eats. Students are set to bring to the table finger food buffets, market days, OBAR6 and finger foods, a chocolate show bag day, “the hour of the desert” and many more events in the coming days and weeks.
